Why is Your Database So Important, With Ed Huck

Today I interviewed my husband, Ed Huck, from the Ed Huck Team, about the importance of your database. After a wild couple of weeks dealing with some urgent family issues, I was able to touch on the importance of how to prioritize God, Family then Business.  It has been a trial to relax, do what’s most important and to let things go. Somehow someway it always falls into place.

We also shared some of the things we’ve been doing for our personal growth journeys.  Ed shared a bit about a podcast he was listening to with Tim Ferris and Arthur C. Brooks (The Happiness Professor), “Build the Life You Want.” book and the relationship between our satisfaction, haves, wants and our happiness.   I discuss my new journey with cold immersion therapy (cold plunging). It unleashes my inner “beast” gives me energy,  yet calms me and is boosting my metabolism and reducing my inflammation.

After that fun, we dig into our topic! Ed is an expert on this topic because he’s built and used a database at the highest level for over 25 years.  As a business owner, (which we all are) having a database a.k.a databank is the foundation of your business.

Ed and I discuss the 4 pillars of your database:

  1. Build it

  2. Feed It

  3. Communicate with It

  4. Service it

We dig deep into the reasons behind this and what each of the pillars means. We also discuss some practical ways to get into action whether you have never heard of this concept or you’ve been in this industry a long time!
