Let’s Build It Together-The Realtor Builder Relationship
This week I’m talking about a topic that’s near and dear to my heart: New Construction! I started my career as a new home sales agent and worked for various builders in Northeast Ohio. I actually met Ed Huck, my husband, in my model home when his clients came in without him! I really wanted these clients to move forward with this home, so I called Ed and offered to honor him as the agent… and the rest is history… well there’s a much longer story than that in which I’m happy to tell if you have a few hours!
While working as a new home sales agent, I had some great experiences with Real Estate Agents, but the truth is, I had more bad experiences than good- my ongoing joke was that I used to not be too fond of Real Estate Agents as a new home rep, then I started dating one, then I married one, now I AM one!
So why is this? Why wouldn’t we all just get along? We are both there to serve our clients at the highest level and work together, right?
That is what my guest, Mary Spenthoff from Petros Homes and I dug into in today's conversation.
We talk about:
Why is there sometimes friction between Realtors and new home sales reps?
What is our common mission and how we can work together to reach that.
How builders can help us in a market with limited inventory.
What are some best practices we should know when working with builders.
How can agents get involved when referring a client to a new home community?
How can Realtors show value and not lose control of the transaction?
And so much more....
I hope you find this helpful because new home construction can be a great place to find inventory for your buyers.
