“It’s About Keeping Your Head In The Game!” With Suzie Patton

I am excited to share with you an amazing 30 minute candid discussion with my good friend and team member, Suzie Patton. Suzie has been selling Real Estate on The Ed Huck Team, KW, for 8 years, 5 of which she has been a sales coach for both new and seasoned agents. She also has over 2 decades of industry experience in prior careers in new home sales, mortgage & banking.

I’ve asked Suzie to talk with me today regarding her speciality… helping agents to keep their head in the game and stay productive no matter what is happening in the industry. She has a passion for giving agents the tools and resources they need to stay successful day in and day out, especially in this changing market.

Our conversation is real, honest and hopefully will bring you hope as you tackle this changing market!

Here are a few of the highlights of our conversation:

  • What does it take to be successful in this market?

  • What does “doing the right things” look like?

  • How to not mistake busyness for being productive.

  • Get clear about who you are working with,  and make sure they are motivated to buy or sell in this market.

  • What does effective time blocking look like?

  • Identify where you want to find the business and carve out the time in your day to go get it.

Take some time to evaluate…  If you aren’t getting the results you are expecting, do you need more training? Or do you need to pivot and do something differently?

  • Find activities you enjoy doing, you are good at doing, and you are willing to do.

  • There’s a shift in who is coming to Open Houses- How can I use Opens as an opportunity to find the motivation?

It’s about doing what's in your control to make the most out of what’s out there.

  • A defining moment if we are successful in this business is how will you become intentional

  • Going from a service based market to a highly skill based market

  • Do you know your dialogue on how to quickly qualify and do you know how to speak at a high level to qualify and handle objections?

  • Get ready and study the new objections that are about to come your way.

Most people don’t like to lead gen… most people would choose to do anything but the most important part of their job. Don’t let your current business get in your way or the temptation to take the day off before you’ve done your lead gen.

  • Get clear on what activities you want to focus your time on, and block that out in your schedule.

  • Who should I call?

  • If it’s not in your schedule it doesn’t exist.

Suzie's secrets to staying consistent and managing her schedule at a high level!

  • Creating her Ideal schedule every week.

  • Plan out week every Sunday

  • Every evening she evaluates her schedule for the next day.

If you are an agent who is struggling or feeling stuck, Suzie gives these suggestions:

  • Look at what you have been doing and evaluate what’s working and what's not.

  • Is it not working and you should do something differently, or is it not working but it could work if you had some more training or adjust the way you are doing it?

  • Come up with a plan - what can I do differently moving forward to get different results.

  • Celebrate the successes you DID have. Look at the times you did find success.

  • Dig deeper into what you are doing this for? What is your motivation?

We may have some temporary pain in this short term market- but if you are willing to put in the time and the effort and do the right things you will all be fine! Homes are still getting listed, homes are still selling!

This Business is Worth It!

If anyone needs to have a conversation or a coaching moment to help you figure out how YOU can get your head back in the game. We would be happy to help you! We are here to help you. Please reach out! We are in this together!
